The Blue Brazil are the visitors to Hampden this afternoon as Ray McKinnon’s Spiders side go in search of a crucial three points in the push to move up the league table. Gary Bollan’s side currently sit third in the table, a position they have occupied for a long spell, and they will also be looking for the points in their bid to cement a play off place.

Ahead of the match, Ray McKinnon spoke to the club media team and gave his thoughts. Ray said: ” We are looking forward to the game and go into it in a positive frame of mind. We know it’s a big match, they all are at this stage in the season, and we will approach it in the proper manner.

“For me, it’s all about how we approach the game and ensuring that we play to our strengths from the very first whistle. It’s important we learn lessons from the first half last week and work hard to rectify what went wrong. We got a very good response from the boys in the second half against Albion Rovers and if we can cut out conceding cheap goals like we did last week, we will give ourselves a platform to go and win games.

“We need to be positive, we need to keep focussing on pushing up the table and simply, it’s about us playing to our abilities. We have been able to add a number of players to the squad over the last couple of weeks and that has been extremely pleasing given that January is a tough window to achieve that.

“I was delighted to be able to add Stuart Morrison to the squad last night and Stuart will provide good cover for a number of positions. He is a good, young player who has played at a good level and we’re happy to have him on loan. On the squad front I’m also very happy to have Nicky Jamieson back in the squad after a number of weeks on the sidelines.”
